Why "Cornbelt Symphony"???

Our show was intentionally lowbrow: we were always amazed that records showed a wider range of morality and intelligence than books or movies of the time (you didn't have to be literate to drop a needle on a disc!)
Put simply, we liked idiotic stuff just as well as the classy stuff.
So a song that reveled in the glories of simplemindedness seemed perfect.
Plus, it's a catchy little tune that we had several versions of!
