New Year's Eve shows

For three years, we were given the New Year's slot that no one else wanted, running from 10PM
through 'til whatever time someone dragged themselves in to keep the station on the air.
We have no tape from the first year, 1977/1978.

Jack had moved to Berkeley CA that summer, and Mark had moved to Los Angeles that fall.
Jack was able to get back to MI for the holidays but Mark couldn't that year...
so Jack soloed the whole four-hour show, with help from George Capps and other friends and family in-studio.

As you can hear at the very beginning, this show had some troubles with cheap sticky tape in a weak recorder.
The final cassette was recorded with some very bad warbling in the first song; I cut in where the tape became somewhat listenable!
This was nearly five hours long, so it's segmented into two files. These New Year's shows have a lot of missing material -
you have to imagine that some kind soul (not Jack or Mark!) was trying to pay attention to changing tapes every 30 or 60 minutes over a 4 or 5-hour period,
on New Year's Eve no less! Our gratitude goes out to all the folks that helped us out in this regard, with no blame whatsoever for any missed cues!
